laptop HP slow

only had it for 5 months and the past couple of days it has been running slow. did a factory restore and did all my updates and even did my antivirus. my connection to the internet is slow and getting on the web it won't respond. I don't wanna take to shop and spend money on something easy to fix. please help

Run disk cleanup and defrag.

Run your AV and update it ... also use something like Malwarebytes and remove any malware from the system.

Use process explorer to see what programs are hogging the memory / resources.

It is likely that something like this is chewing up lots of system resources.

Also, use the laptop power settings to run it at full power while your working on it.

Install a temp monitoring program to see is the CPU is overheating as well.
