laptop is lagging

when on charging my laptop handling the game crysis 2 smoothly. but when I unplug the charger it immediately lags I dont know whether it was laptop problem or with the game I want to know why it was happening . mY laptop was lenovo s400 having AMD 7400M graphic card .

it I think might be when its unplugged it uses integrated graphics instead of your dedicated gpu...

Probably going into some sort of power saving mode. Check your power setting when on battery.

It can be 3 things:
1. The laptop switches the power profile to power saving so the cpu and gpu throttles
2. The amd chip doesn't switch to the discrete gpu when it is unplugged
3. The gpu throttles when it is unplugged as it doesn't have enough power to play the game. Some laptops do this even if you put it on the high performance mode.
