Hi, so I just bought a brand new Dell G3 15, which is a pretty casual gaming latop with i5-9th gen, GTX 1650, 8GB RAM, 128SSD, 1TB and I don't have any experince with laptops whatsoever, so I just wanted to ask, if it's okay, when I unplug my laptop from charger, my FPS in for example Dead by Daylight goes from 62 to 3... then I set it up to max performance, yet went barely to 30 FPS. I've asked a friend, he said that it's just happening, cuz it's laptop. Thanks for answers :)

Solution
Thats normal.

It may be battery saving settings that are still on somewhere. Also make sure you are still using your discrete (GTX1650) graphics card not your integrated graphics.

Its also possible that the low FPS is just the best it can perform on battery. I've heard/read some articles that suggest that laptop batteries can't output enough power to drive your CPU/GPU at their full potential while not plugged in. Not 100% on this being true, but it could be, im not an electrical engineer.

I would shoot dell support a email and ask them if they have any suggestions for gaming on battery power.

Solution
I've went through every single battery saving settings and all are set to max performance. I am using my dedicated graphics. Alright, this basically answered my question, thanks a lot!
