I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 on it. Last Saturday, Dec 3, my laptop was taking longer to boot up. I force shut it down. When I turned it on it went immediately to disc check. I had to leave for work so I don't know the results. Now I turn it on and the Lenovo logo comes up with the circle of dots below it like it's trying to come up. After about two minutes the screen turns off but the laptop is still running. Nothing will get the screen to come back on. I can't access bios. I have tried taking the battery and hard drive out, letting the battery die, and ejecting the disc tray. Nothing. Any help please?

The hdd maybe dying. Try removing the hdd and connect it to a desktop's sata ports. MAKE SURE the hdd thats in the desktop is the bootdisk.

If it hangs on the post screen, (which means the system is finding it hard to read it), then it could be dying or it's ready to die

I don't have a desktop just another laptop. I should have stated that this happened before. It took over a week for it to come back to life. I've only had for almost 3 years. It never worked good. It's always been a poc laptop.

The only reason I'm worried about it is that I don't want personal info still on the hard drive when I recycle it. I could just remove the hard drive before recycling it and just throw away the hard drive.
