Laptop just shut off and won't turn back on

So basically i own this HP EliteBook 8740w, and one day i started it up and opened two applications (League of Legends and Steam). After about fifteen seconds of opening the apps, my Laptop suddenly shut off and wouldn't power on. But then If i have the battery in the laptop the charging symbol will blink blue, or the quick buttons on the top of the keyboard will flash and disappear.
My device will not turn on with the battery and charger in, nor will it turn on with just the charger in.
Please help!

Remove the battery and charger and hold down power button for 20 seconds. Plug in the charger, then put the battery back in and see if it will power up.

I had an Elitebook that did something similar once - apparently this is the HP "reset" procedure.

How long will it take for the reset to finish? and is there any visible signs to know if it is resetting

As long as it takes you to do that. Nothing visible.

didnt work. same problem is still happening. flashing light but no actual power
