Hi all, I'm am looking for some help to please fix my laptop
I have a Asus ROG Strix G G731 which constantly goes to sleep after a few minutes
I have all sleep options disabled in power options.
I have performed full restore to factory settings
I have updated to latest BIOS settings

Fault seems to be related to high stress situations, minutes after a game boots it will struggle then go to sleep.
All games are unplayable, will lag really bad then go to sleep
CPU sitting at 70 degrees C and GPU at 63 degrees C at rest
Laptop will also turn off even while in the BIOS screen
Have pulled apart and cleaned all dust of fans and heat sinks

In system log i seem to be getting this fault "system is entering sleep, Sleep reason: Application API
Source: Kernel- Power
Event Id: 42

Laptop also seems to be having battery issues aswell, not sure if this is related.
System will not run unless connected to power
When battery is connected it will show 100% but shut down after about 10 seconds.

Any ideas to help would be appreciated

Give it some coffee.

On a more serious note though, to me it seems although your laptop is infract going into hibernation mode rather than sleep mode.
Have you attempted to look at the advanced power settings?

I advise disabling hibernation mode and this should resolve the issue, you can disable this by either accessing the ADV settings or simply inputting powercfg -h off into CMD

Hope this helped 😀
