Laptop Keyboard Key 'W' not working, how do I fix it?

I'm using windows 8.1 and I use the touch keyboard to type w. I think the reason it's not working is because I pressed this key a lot when I play games. I don't think the key is physically broken because it sometimes work. It's like it freezes and then functions again, and then freezes again.
