I have an asus n552vw laptop and the lcd stopped working.
At first there was no image and the backlight was blinking and there was a big white fuzzy spot (like backlight bleed), so i decided to try an external display and it worked fine(display port and hdmi).
So i decided to check for a loose connector but it didnt fix the issue, then i tried to check the connector on the back of the LCD (40 pin eDP) but it also didnt work.
But during the process i broke the panel (while removing the bezel which was glued to the bottom of the display). Then i tried the display from an old laptop that had a dead gpu and also had a 40 pin eDP. This display showed image but it was flickering(the backlight was ok) and a loud noise was coming from the lcd board, and when i pressed against it the noise when down.
I also noticed like a month ago that when I scrolled or moved the mouse around there was this faint audible buzzing.

So my main question is if it is ok to assume that the lcd is bad and the old one was also bad (the old one is like 6 and a half years old),or if it is more likely a problem with the motherboard.
I checked the voltage on the power input of the LCDs and it was 3.1 volts from the rated 3.3 volts but i don't know what is the tolerance for this displays.
the original display was a LP156UD1-SPB2

the old laptop is a Samsung np-rf712 with 1920x1080 display.
I cant test the screen on the old laptop since that one is totally dead.
So if it isn't a MOBO issue i will just buy the replacement LCD.
