[SOLVED] Laptop LED turns on but when I press the on button the computer doesn't turn on

So I have this hp 14 laptop that when you plug in the PSU the LED turns on which I think it means that the motherboard is working, but when I try to press the on button it doesn't do anything, I've tried cleaning RAM with an eraser. What could the problem be?

More info: I think is something related to the power button board, I think I might have shortened it but I'm not sure, it looked like I connected it correctly but apparently I didn't because it turned on and then turned off and when I connected it again this time it didn't turn on, I'm really afraid that the motherboard got toasted or something, I'm scared

I think that light is to let you know the laptop is plugged in.
Power switch may be bad (shorted) and your first connection was good?
Is it possible make the connection with a screwdriver (button disconnected)
Don't slip short other stuff!
