Laptop loses power somehow

Hi everyone,

I have a Samsung NP530U3B laptop which is 5+ years old atm. I absolutely love the laptop and it stills works very well for me. But there have been some strange things going on with the battery. I suspect it turns on or something to maybe check for updates.

As you can see on 27-06 i turned of the laptop with 45% battery left. Then when I turned it on the 29th battery was almost empty. This has been happening quite a lot. Sometimes when I get my laptop out of my bag it is also a bit warm, so I suspect it turns on. Is this a setting somewhere? Or is it checking for updates? I quite recently changed to a new battery but the problem was existent before.

Anyone know where I can check whether the laptop was turned on somewhere?

it is a motherboard issue as your 2nd new battery does the same. I have same issue but not as bad as yours with my netbook that I stopped using once I got an e-reader.

Really motherboard? I'm pretty sure it just turns on some times, from sleep mode I must add. It does not happen in shut down.

It feels like something software. But if it is the motherboard what is it that is broken you think?
