Laptop making clicking sound when booting

First of all, I just registered the website and if I am posting this on the wrong thread or something, please accept my apology. I have a problem with my Samsung laptop and would like to get some input from experts.

I have been using this Samsung R440 laptop for some 4 years already and lately, when I turn on it is making the clicking sound (please listen to the sound clip I have attached). When my laptop makes that sound, it stuck in boot menu but not loading the windows 7. It takes a couple of power off and turn back on again and again (like more than 20 times), it loads windows. When I get it to load Windows, I can use without a problem (like 2 times out of 20 times, it might make that clicking sound while I'm using Windows and turn off itself though). My question is obviously there's something wrong with the laptop and I want to somehow tweak it by myself. What is causing this problem ?

Could it be the motherboards (that's what I think so i'm posting under Motherboards category) or could it be power supply or hardrive ?

that sound might be from your hard drive. go into the bios to see if there is a hard drive diagnostic section to test the hard drive to see if it is going bye bye.
