Laptop making sizzling noise after water damage?

So I have a Lenovo Flex 2, and I had it on my balcony outside. Someone bumped it and it fell into deep snow. (Canadian problems). The screen basically came off so it's useless but I'm worried about the noise it's making. It sounds like it's sizzling so I'm assuming it's the battery. The problem is, it's not easy to remove the battery and I don't want to get electrocuted or have it blow up in my face. What do I do?

Don't apply power to it. I'm not sure that I understand. If it's useless, why turn it on? Or is this noise coming while it's turned off?
