Laptop Monitor Backlight CCFL Burn out?

My Acer Aspire 5535's CCFL bulb and inverter seem to have gone out. The screen still turns on and is possible to be seen, but the CCFL backlight does not come on making it look like one of the original Game Boy colors. I am thinking about purchasing a new inverter and bulb with harness and simply replacing them in the monitor, unless anyone has an idea of if it is something else? Please help.

I made the attempt to plug the CCFL into an external inverter that I knew worked, the bulb did not light, however the voltage may have been to low to do anything.

Sometimes the power connectors for the backlight loosens up enough so the backlight doesn't come on. I would plan on replacing the parts, but I'd make sure you could return the parts if you open it up just to find the power cable disconnected.

Thank you for the speedy response, but as I stated the cable is indeed plugged in and I have tried it with a different inverter as well. I also have used a multimeter to test the power output on the inverter which came across as 0. I'm wondering if it is a cable somewhere attached to the motherboard
