Just bought a new Asus VP28UQG monitor, but when plugging it into my Laptops HDMI port (Asus ROG Strix GTX 1050), it only allows 30hz. Its plugged into the monitors HDMI 2.0 port with a 2.0 cable.
To confirm that the monitor and cable work, I plugged it into my other laptop with a RTX 2060 in it and instantly it goes to 4k 60hz.
There are no settings in the monitor settings that allow any related setttings either.
One strange thing im finding is when looking in my device manager my 1050 doesn't show up under the "monitor" section while it does on my 2060 laptop.
EDIT: Using a Display to Mini Display cable fixed the issue. The HDMI port must be messed up. Either way, this solution works!
