Hi all!
I just cleaned the thermal paste of a laptop, (using isopropyl alcohol, as usual) there was way too much and it was everywhere.
After doing that and putting some fresh thermal paste and the heatsink/fan back on it would not power on at all.
Led won't light up, no fan spin, nothing. Only the power indicator led turns on (the one that's always on when the adapter is connected) but flashes off when i press the power button
Did I kill it? I already tried to remove the CMOS battery but no luck...

Update, I found out there's ispropyl alcohol under the CPU, between the BGA pads... I'm going to remove the motherboard and put it in some rice, just to be sure.

You did not soak it with 70% spirit, did you? ))
You might have dented the IC when reinstalling the heatsink, portables do not have IHS and the die is exposed and touchy...
