Laptop not turning on

I have a sony vaio svf152c1ww laptop
I think it has a faulty motherboard
The problem is that when i try to power on it doesnt and if i remove battery and the cord and press the power button for a minute and put back the battery it will turn on and after some time it automatically turns off and then it wont turn on.
can the motherboard be repaired?
What are the cause of this problem?

So it doesn't work even when the adapter is plugged in and the laptop is charging?

When did this issue start, did you change anything on the laptop before it happened?

Maybe there is something faulty with the battery charging module on the motherboard
