Question Laptop not working after motherboard change

I have an Asus X555L laptop and I was trying to upgrade it. As the CPU is soldered to the motherboard I decided to change the whole motherboard. I put in an Asus X555DG motherboard with a better CPU and graphics, while also changing from HDD to SSD. The X555DG has all the connections that the original has so I thought there would be no problem. However, now the laptop does not turn on or seem to be charging either as no lights come on and I can't hear the fan. The boards for the hard drive connection and extra usb port (which has the lights on it) are still from the original laptop but they look the same as the X555DG ones. Also the CPU changed from Intel i5 4210u to an AMD FX-8800p processor. I would be grateful if anyone could please help me. :)
