Laptop not working on battery

The laptop will power on when i have it plugged into the AC charger and i can use it normally. As soon as i remove the charger the laptop shuts off immediately. What surprises me though is that windows reports the battery is charging and has 100% life and other programs such as HWMonitor and batteryinfoviewer also report that the battery has 100% wear and is fully charged.

I bought the laptop on ebay and the battery looks brand new, although it is not an original dell battery.

Could this be a problem with the battery or the charging circuit/motherboard?

Hi. what is the full model of your laptop? Did I talk to a real Technician or just a name?

The laptop in question is a dell vostro 1510.

You can try this test, uninstall the drivers for the Microsoft AC Battery and the Microsoft ACPI in the Device Manager under Batteries, restart the laptop.
