Hi guys!
This is driving me mad.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1LR laptop with Windows 7 Pro 64bit (SP1). Discontinued model and no warranty.
I bought it refurbished at the beginning of the year and the casing does seem to be loose and clicking in some areas. There are also quite a few screws missing but it works well apart from this.
Lately, I've been turning it on but it tells me the HDD failed, the CD/RW drive failed and the LAN failed. It won't boot up from anything - basically, everything had failed.
So I disconnect the mains, take the battery out, leave it for a minute and try again. This time, it boots normally and I can access Windows with no problem. And none of my data has been erased.
It'll stay on and working as long as I don't shut it down. After shut down, I go to starup and it fails to boot again. So I yank the battery out, wait and then it's fine again!
This is starting to happen more and more but I don't know what's causing it. I did a CHKDSK yesterday and it took nearly 4 hours as it was replaced a lot of bad sectors. I was hoping that would fix this problem but it hasn't.
Any ideas?
