Laptop only charges after battery is dead.

My Lenovo Y510p of roughly 3 years has recently started doing this weird thing. Even if there is 1% battery it won't charge. It only charges when the battery is completely dead. I'm at a loss.

My first suspicion is that the battery is defective. You need a new one. The charger could also be defective, but the battery is more likely. After 3 years, you need one anyway.
