[SOLVED] laptop opens apps on its own

I have a lenovo ideapad 8340 laptop , if i leave the pointer over something such as a program short cut or part of a web page that particular item opens up by itself just like it would if i had clicked it with the mouse button on my desktop.
Is this supposed to happen on a laptop or is their a way to stop it.

Is it a touch pad or a mouse?

Try
Ease of access centre
Make mouse easy to use
Unclick the option Activate a program by hovering over it.
