i am purchasing this laptop http://tinyurl.com/pgh9rwx and i want to buy a ssd to add to it for the operating system. what would be the easiest way to move the operating system from the hdd to the ssd. I am not worried about losing anything because i will do this right away. And I would like everything else to be saved on the hdd.

Solution
The easiest way is to use a clone utility to copy the HDD to a ssd and replace the hard drive.
Samsung and Intel have proprietary conversion utilities for their drives.
If the laptop can mount two sata drives, keep the original hdd as overflow storage.

Solution
A SSD is a solid state drive. It is functionally the same as a normal 2.5" laptop hard drive, but 50x faster in random operations, and 3x faster in sequential.
The only negative is that the cost per gb is higher.
Look at the Samsung 850 EVO and the Samsung ssd migration utility.
You attach the ssd with a cable to a usb port on the laptop and copy the contents.
When done, you open up the laptop and replace the hard drive with the ssd.
