Question Laptop power is on but there's no display ?

hello Everyone,

Laptop make/model: Dell Inspiron 15 3542

My laptop is not displaying anything. I have connected it to an external display but still the same problem.
Any solution please? thanks ................................

there is only 1 light on the laptop so we wont be able to identify if the hard drive is working or not
