Question Laptop powers on, but nothing shows on screen. Fried Video Card?

Hi! My Dell Precision was working perfectly a few nights ago. last afternoon it suddenly shut off when I opened the lid, and now when I power it on nothing shows on the screen. My suspicion is a fried graphics card, but it also could be because the laptop is really old (2007 I think).

Backlight failure is the most likely issue. Not worth replacing on a unit that old.

If you can get a picture on an external display, it's your built-in LCD. If not, then probably a bad video controller (video card/chip). Reseat the memory or replace it just to make sure it's not the laptop not POSTing because of bad or loose RAM.
