Hi.
At work, we have a professional 2k DCP cinema projector, some times we need to show movies from a laptop and not the server built for it. The problem is when we start the movie ( usually 1080p) on our current laptop there is tearing and artifacts showing, current laptop is a Lenovo with a Pentium processor and I know the laptop is slow and nod good for that purpose, so we bought a hp omen with an i5 and 1050 I don't know the exact model, that is used for a smaller projector (NEC Pa622u 1080p), but that one is also showing tearing on the 2k projector. My question what laptop should we buy (specs).
Thank you.

The issue is not likely your computer hardware but the driver.

Streaming content, even UHD content, is not all that resource intensive if that's the only thing you're doing at the time.

Check the OEM site for the 2K projector you're using to get and install the latest driver versions available.
