Hello,
My old laptop charger has an output of 19v and 3.95 amps. If I use a charger that has output of 19v 4.74 amps will it make my laptop get hot or hurt any of the parts in my laptop?

No, the current is a max rating. Usually the unit will draw less than maximum unless you have a problem with the battery or charging components. Check after a few minutes to see if battery is getting hot.
