Hi Community !

So I have recently bought myself the Gigabyte P55v4 laptop. Its specs are:

CPU: i7 - 5700HQ
RAM: 8GB x1 1866Mhz (G.Skill)
HDD: 1 x 1TB 7200rpm
OS: Windows 10

So my question is: What ram should I buy ? Im looking to buy another 8GB ram stick, but it seems the existing ram stick installed (F3-1866C10S-8GRSL) is discontinued.... and I cant seem to find any other ram sticks with the same specs to match the existing one.

I am worried about compatibility issues of pairing a faster or slower rated ram stick or ram stick rated at different timings.

My options it seems are:
1) buy ram with the same timings, but dif rated speed.
2) buy ram at the same speed buut dif timings
3) Buy a new set of 2 x 8GB ram sticks, and sell or give away the existing stick

The reason for the upgrade is two fold, I use ram intensive apps like Autocad, Caddie, Sketchup and Lumion (at the same time a lto fo the time) as well as I want some extra performance if I can get some.

Some other info: I live in South Africa, so I cant buy from NewEgg or other international sites... Our currency is worth nothing atm xD

Thanks in advance.

Safest bet is to get a new matched set. You could risk it and get one with similar specs rated at a higher speed (make sure voltage is same too and memory dies and package setup is same too and return it if it doesn't work, I wouldn't get the same speed and slower timings but tighter/faster ones might work.
