Laptop Ram upgrade

I have an Asus FX 553 VDM
7th gen i5
8gb Ram
Gtx 1050 2 gb dedicated graphics

I usually use it to play games , run VMs and coding , i'm planning to learn adobe illustrator .
Should i upgrade my 8GB Ram to 16 GB !?
I really wanna be able to play games for the most part of it (especially with new DmC V coming out ) 😛

it won't do any harm upgrading to 16gb (if the slots are not full) but will you benefit?
Probably not a lot
SSD is the real boost if you don't have one.

Will that boost gaming performance ?
And from what I hear it's better to have more RAM to run VMs
I can't make up my mind between investing in my laptop or getting an after market exhaust for my motorcycle

VM's need more ram yes....
Motorcycles are more fun
SSD won't really boost performance, but makes things run quicker, load up times and just feels like a new computer.
