I recently acquired a used Dell laptop and want to do a clean install of Windows 10 on it. The laptop started out with Win 7 installed and has the Win 7 Key listed on its case. It's currently running Win 10 which is the result of the Windows upgrade offered a few years ago. I own a copy of Win 10 which is running on my desktop and have its key. Is it possible to use my copy of Win 10 to do a clean install on the laptop and if so, which key should I use. Or is there a better way to reinstall Win 10 on the laptop.

Thanks in advance,

Jim Driskell

If it was previously fully activated with WIn 10, all you need to do is a full wipe and reinstall of WIn 10.
It already has its own license.

Create a brand new USB to install with, boot from that, and go.
