Laptop responding in a way I have never seen - help?

Hello,

My laptop suddenly started to work very slowly. The windows were minimizing maximizing really slow. The display with growing dim like it was half power and about to fail.

A video file I was encoding was taking over two hours when it was supposed to be twelve minutes.

Later I ran the system diagnostics and no problems were found except my battery needs calibration.

Anyone know what's going on?

I have a Windows 10 laptop with a SSD. All of the latest updates are installed. I had the laptop plugged into my ac adapter at the time of the issue.

I did take a look. The best I could do was to reset my power settings to default.

I don't think the issue is with my power plan. I have not made any changes to it in a very long time. I don't see how it would suddenly be the cause.

I am noticing now that my laptop screen pulsates as the computer works. I think the computer is accessing the HD. This went away after a short while.
