My laptop broke a while back but now I need it again so I tried to google the problem but found nothing.
When I googled I found alot of people saying their hard drive made a beeping sound because it was broken but mine don't beep or make a sound at all. It is a WesternDigital WD5000BEVT Scorpio Blue 500gb drive. When I take out the hard drive it says I need to put in a boot device so It's definetly the hard drive making the problem. I don't believe it's fully broken so
if anyone know a solution or have ANY suggestions on what I could do I'd be happy.
It's a Lenovo G555

Hi there Samuel Bengtsson,

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. :( I guess you can just test it with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool for DOS and see whether the HDD is the component that is causing all of this: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=znbLQL

Apart from that, random restart could be caused by other components as well. Is the laptop under warranty? In case it is, it may be a good idea to contact the manufacturer.

Let me know how this goes,
