[SOLVED] Laptop running lower FPS than it should

I have a asus r558uq with a i5 7200u , 8gb ram and a 940mx 2gb ddr5 gpu
I have been having lower FPS than expected for more than a year (at least). I’ve seen gameplay vids with the same rigs showing better performance

I have the latest drivers , am using the dedicated gpu and have also finally cleaned my laptop and reapplied thermal paste after 3 years ( helped with temps but not with FPS)

Eg , I am having trouble getting 30fps on fc4 on mid to high settings at 900p , temps are usually from 70 to 80 C after cleaning the laptop

What do I do?

Laptops age VERY fast. In my oppinion laptops are NOT for gaming. Now sadly you cant upgrade it. Try upgrading to an ssd if possible
