Hello! I recently purchased a Lenovo 20JM000BUS Thinkpad T470 20Jm and for the first day it was working perfectly, however when I woke up the next morning the laptop's screen wouldn't turn on and there were two short beeps emitted from the laptop after about five seconds. Everything lights up on the laptop, just not the screen. I have tried removing the battery, resitting the DIMM, double checking the screen cables aren't loose, holding FN + F7 at boot, and holding the power button for 30 second increments. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

If you just bought it new, I would return it and get them to give you one that works. If you bought it used, try the following...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem...

I appreciate the help, but I've already been in contact with Lenovo and they are working on replacing the motherboard right now. I tried everything you said to do before I sent it in about a week ago. Nonetheless, this advise is still useful to anyone experiencing something similar to what my laptop was doing.
