Laptop Screen Brightness won't go up

6I have a Toshiba Satellite L755D-5218. It has an A6-3400M APU with 6gb of Ram. When I turn the computer on the screen is at full brightness in things like the bios and the window loading screen. But once windows has fully loaded the brightness drops to about 40-50%. The sliders are fully adjusted to be the brightest (even though if I turn them down it doesn't do anything). I have the latest drivers and I have even when into the power settings and changed everything to the highest but it does nothing. Im stumped, anyone else know what to do? (This just started)

have you went into the bios and adjusted them?

I haven't used a laptop in ages... but I recalled separate setting for when it's plugged in and not plugged in... within Power Management

yep it will give you both options in the bios
