Question Laptop screen display problem

Recently my laptop has been displaying extreme screen tearing when turning on, changing web pages, and watching videos. There is no changes when moving the screen physically. Problem doesn't occur when using external monitor.

Any suggestions on what the cause might be?

I think your best case scenario is that the LCD video cable needs to be replaced. They're (usually) fairly inexpensive.

Worst case scenario would be having to replace the LCD.
