Question Laptop screen goes black whenever the power cord is unplugged ?

Laptop screen goes black whenever the power cord is unplugged.

I have an Asus TP550LAB Flip with i7 4th gen on which the screen goes black when the power cord is unplugged. The computer is still running in the background when the screen is black.
The display comes back on right away after the power cord is plugged in.

The screen goes black when unplugged when looking at the bios screen as well and when the power is plugged back in the bios is still there so the computer is still running when even when the display is black.

Things I have tried:

• Reinstalled all drivers first
• I have tried all power saving options, balanced power, max performance, etc
• New OEM battery
• Fresh install of windows 10
• The bios is the last update available.

Any suggestion on what I might be able to try??

Check your screen brightness settings for "on battery" and "plugged in" see if they match.
