laptop screen suddenly turned white

hey there, it was 12:50 pm i was working on my laptop (acer aspire s3 951) and suddenly the screen turned white... i tried rebooting the whole computer.. even taking off the display and gluing down the lcd cable but nothing seems to work.... the first time the white screen appeared the whole system rebooted after a few seconds and i could see a little flashing of colors when i moved the lid around but now i don't see anything but the white screen... i've been using this laptop for 2 years.. and i can't seem to figure out what the problem is.. thanks!
