laptop screen wont show

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-B5319 Laptop that is running on Windows 10. A few days back, my monitor was broke so I hooked my laptop up to my TV as a monitor then, I went into some safe boot mode then all the sudden, it restarts and my TV screen says "No Signal." The laptop turns on then the screen gose black for about 5-6 seconds then says no signal... I tried using a different HDMI cord but it wont work. Can anybody please help me?

did you turn on the external? on my laptop its fn+F4 enables the external port.

you may have to do this every reboot/boot

I tried doing that command but it wont work

just read the manual on page 62 the f4 key is the trigger, hitting the fn key is not needed. this will enable the external VGA port. if it is HDMI it should be automatic

It wouldent load the link but if your talking about doind a command to turn to a second screen or something then, it wont work. theirs a VGA port on my laptop and i was just going to buy a cord for it. Will it work best if I buy a VGA cord instead? or will it do the same thing??

so your laptop has a vga port? the f4 key will turn on the vga port. must be done every time you boot.
when the laptop is hooked up to the tv through the VGA cable. turn on laptop, give it 3 seconds and hit f4, this should move the output to the tv.
