laptop shortage?

I plan to buy a new laptop and just start to do some research...and... I read the news about laptop shortage. Does it mean that I need to hurry up and buy one right away? I don't want to compromise with another laptop if the one I like is out of stock. I don't like the idea that I might need to pay more because of the shortage...

If you can I would hold off until this Covid-19 crisis is over. Don't make an important purchase like a laptop when the time isn't ideal and you may have to compromise.
