So , recently my laptop (Lenovo g505s) has gone through a lot of problems. First , it stopped getting charged , and the Lenovo service center people said it had some motherboard problem, but I took to a local repair shop , because it was cheap , and they replaced some of the ICs on the motherboard , and my laptop started charging again.

But now from the last couple of weeks it started behaving strangely, my laptop keeps on going into sleep mode frequently (I even put up a ques about it on this forum , but no one answered). And now again , a new problem , my laptop keeps getting shut down strangely and frequently without any warning. I switch it on , the logo screen flashes for a couple of seconds and then it shuts down again. Sometimes it can go on for hours before again getting shut down automatically.

Is it still a motherboard problem? Because I heard motherboards are non - repairable.

because its a Lenovo laptop

my school orders 800 T440's and so far they have has 637 replaces in a year most of them from heat damage charging issues storage corruption screen cracking/leaking not booting (unknown) internet issues etc.

id look at getting another charger incase the charger is faulty ( we had plenty of them some blew out the power to the school) and also get Lenovo to fix the issue aslong as they don't charge apple prices (600 for a screen replacement for ours the damn laptops where bought for 250 each!!)

Random shutdowns can be an issue with your hard drive, RAM, and cooling. If your laptop is running hot, it can and often will randomly shut down. Have you ran any programs to check the condition of your hard drive? I personally use a program called "Hard Disk Sentinel" but there are others from OEM manufacturers like Western Digital. I think most are free too.

I almost forgot, Hard Disk Sentinel will tell you what your hard drives temperature is, so we can see if this is an issue with overheating or not.
