Question Laptop shutting down randomly while playing games

Hello,

My laptop is almost 6 years old now and has no battery since I removed it. Also I didn't buy a new one because original ones are a bit too expensive for me. In February 2025's last week my laptop adapter broke. After that even though I bought a stronger one, it has higher capacity than my laptop needs, it's shutting down randomly on games. It's not consistent either, for example when playing A game sometimes it doesn't shut down at all but a day later I can't even open that A game. In normal usage, like browsing on the internet or drawing something on illustration apps, it doesn't have this problem.

I monitored temperatures and noticed it was around 70 on idle at first starts so I fixed it by cleaning reapplying thermal paste but it didn't fix the shutting down problem. I tried putting load on cpu and gpu seperately and noticed it only happens when I put load on gpu (a gtx 1050ti). I also checked internet but couldn't find something that can solve my problem. I went to a repair shop, asked friends and tested about what could be causing but only problems we reached upon are gpu is damaged, motherboard is damaged (caused by switching from freezing cold to above room temperature) and lack of battery. What could cause this and can I fix it?

My laptop is called Casper Excalibur G670 and it's got
- Intel i7-8750H 2.20 GHz
- Nvidia GTX 1050Ti
- 16 GB DDR4 RAM (I don't know which producer)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

My laptop is almost 6 years old now and has no battery since I removed it.
You might want to see if the venting in your laptop is clogged with dust/debris. This would also be a good reason to replace the thermal paste and pads with something higher in quality.

16 GB DDR4 RAM (I don't know which producer)
While you're disassembling the laptop, it'd be a good idea to see what the make and model of your laptop rams are.

Might want to also see if your laptop's BIOS is pending update.

CPU-Z will identify your ram.

How did the adapter break?
Perhaps in the process, it damaged something.
I might suspect the replacement laptop battery adapter.
I think old adapter's cables disconnected because when I pushed it's cables towards inside it was working just to stop doing so when I let go. I used it for couple months before it broke but it was repaired previously, can that cause problems?
