Long story short, I spilled a beer over my laptop keyboard. I opened it up to clean it out and dry it as best as I could. It fired up fine after a hard reset and everything seemed fine; windows 10 is running as normal as is every program. The keyboard is still sticky but every key functions as it should.

The only problem that I've noticed so far is that once I close the lid and reopen it, the pc boots windows from scratch and I sign on to an empty desktop. It's not the end of the world but it's super annoying.

My power settings haven't changed; closing the lid is only supposed to put the pc to sleep whether it's plugged in or not.

Could this be a short out from the workings of the lid sensors? Is there anything specific component that would cause this issue?

FYI, the computer is an HP probook 450 g6.
