Hello, i bought a new hp laptop just a month ago. Now the problem i am facing is that right speaker of my laptop is producing crackling/distorted sound. I have googled abt this and my drivers and all are up to date. Now, today i just kept my hands on the speaker , means i put my hand on the laptop body where speaker is located amd applied some pressure and distortion/crackling sound was all gone and when i lift my hand distortion again starts. Now i want to ask what is the problem ? Is it with the speaker or it is because of the crackling sound is coming because of the vibrations speaker produces on the laptop body? Pls answer me as soon as possible, i am really worried because it is my new laptop ...

Solution
Crackling sounds, especially in response to physical pressure or movement, are usually a sign of a bad solder joint on the signal wire to the speaker. The joint is loose, so your physical pressure or movement causes it to move (or in your case stops it from moving). The intermittent connection/disconnection as the signal wire moves gets interpreted by the speaker as a square wave, causing the crackling. (It can also be caused by a broken wire, but most of the time I've seen it it's a bad solder joint.)

If you can still exchange the laptop at the store you bought it from, that's the easiest way to deal with it. If you're outside the return period or have spent a lot of time configuring the software to your liking, then you can...
You could try to speak with warranty or the manufacturer's service for technical support.

If you're outside the return period or have spent a lot of time configuring the software to your liking, then you can return it for a warranty repair. However, if you're handy with a soldering iron and the laptop model is easy to take apart (most HPs are - check YouTube for disassembly videos), it's usually pretty easy to find the offending wire and resolder it.
