I have a SFF desktop with a laptop SSD. It is just a circuit board, not encased in a box. How do I slave that into a desktop to pull data off of it? It has separate power and data connections. I believe it is a MSATA SSD.

If the SSD you describe is just a circuit board sans, case/box, it is still a SSD.

Therefore all that should be needed is a SSD to USB adapter to connect (data and power ) the "circuit board" SSD to the deskop. That desktop computer should recognize the circuit board SSD as a drive (naked or not :) ) and the SSD should appear on the host as connected USB drive.

SSD to USB adapter (power and data) - some product such as the following:

https://www.amazon.com/SATA-Drive-A...t=&hvlocphy=9007743&hvtargid=pla-572925725652

or

https://www.ebay.com/p/Sabrent-EC-SSHD-USB-3-0-to-SATA-and-SATA-II-Adapter/21028315723

If neither product fits then just google SSD to USB adapter and search accordingly.

That said I am curious about the "circuit board" SSD you are describing.

Do you mean some NVME device?
