the problem started with dead battery, I have been using my laptop on mains for long. the battery gives back up of few seconds so I removed it. later after running for months on mains I decided to get a battery but the laptop would not boot on battery now, power led and CPU fan seems to run fine but nothing on screen. so when I plug to as it boots. then while working on AC it started failing load OS one day, on googling found that it will work on disabling one core so I logged in safe mode to disable one core Windows loaded fine, but after this u can never load Ubuntu I had a dual boot os. so I work on Windows form that time.

after few months it started showing starting problem, laptop works flawlessly once it starts successfully. when I power with mains AC laptop would not start at once, power led and fan shuts down before loading Acer logo screen. after several attempts it when it finally shows the screen it works fine after that. In order to successfully start my laptop I have to press the power button some 30 to 40 times and sometime even more. I doubted if it is some heating that is required initially so to prove it, I started heating the heatsink around the CPU using a hot iron once it is hot it starts in 1 or 2 attempts.

if some hardware specialist can shed some light on it will be helpful, I doubted nec/tokin could be the culprit but had to rule out as the laptop works fine once it starts successfully.

is the CPU gone ? I have run the motherboard minus CPU the power led and CPU fan remains running.

I have been using this laptop for 5years, and due to emotional attachment can't throw it away. have used it a lot and learned many things with it.

Solution
I have successfully fixed the issue. Initially I got frequent shutdown when I was trying to load Ububtu / Opensolaris from Live CD . In windows two Cores would not work so I had to disable one core. following the youtube, I toasted the MOBO for few minutes and to my wonder all problem resolved.

Only issue happened is the MOBO had bend a bit and the power LED got faded before it were too bright. But all works.
