Hi,
Yesterday evening i started a game on my laptop after few seconds my laptop suddenly powered off. When i tried starting it again, it powered on without any thing on screen after few seconds there was a loud fan noise and again powered off. The fan was blowing hot air so that means the cpu/gpu was working i think.
There are two ram installed 2+2 gb. I removed both and tried them individually one by one but same issue.
Can some body guide what i should do?
Is it a problem with GPU?
My laptop model is: Sony Vaio VPCEB26FG

Thanks,
Shashank

Probably generating more heat when gaming than the laptop can cope with, hence increased fan noise and laptop powers off to prevent permanent component damage.

Unless it's specified as a gaming laptop it's only suitable for playing simple games.

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
I noticed temperatures during games sometimes and it didn't crossed 75 c anytime. I changed the thermal paste also once. After stopping the game temperatures use to come down quickly to 40s c.
Can you tell what are the symptoms of a damaged GPU?
What i should try next do diagnose the exact issue?

My laptop has ati radeon 5000 series chip.
