My Satellite Pro l450 charges for a few seconds then stops and goes onto battery use -- I believe that there is a a setting or something to solve this - - i have 2 batteries and 2 laptops, and it only does this on 1 of them, i charge the batteries on the good laptop, then have to transfer them over to the bad one to use it so it aint neither the charger or battery any suggestions

Tried take off battery - hold start for 30 seconds etc not working !!
thanks

Solution
Hi, i have the same problem...
When i plug out the charger and plug it back in right away, the battery starts to charge.. But later(after 10seconds) the battery stops charging and "plugged in, not charging" comes up. This goes away, if i repeat...

It's more like an internal Hardware problem than a Software problem. If you can charge it on a separate laptop just fine and then not on this one then it's the charge port. I recommend either getting it fixed, or upgrading.

Solution

Do you have the original charger that you got with your laptop ? As i don't and tomorrow i'm going to call the guy and lets see if he can solve the problem...
If he does, i'll let you know :)

no i bought this laptop from someone without a charger - -flat - I am using a charger from a toshiba equium which has a broken hinge,- was trying to get a good one from the 2 - also the mouse pad wasnt working aswell but i set it to factory reset and that has come on now ! keep in touch and let me know what happens with yours especially if you find a solution
THANKs

Try updating the BIOS for your model (you can find BIOS update at your laptop manufacturer website). Had the same problem with a Lenovo G50 and worked for me.
