Laptop Startup Failure Pre-POST.

I have an acer extensa 4420. I am unable to get to POST, it just gives me a black, unlit screen. I was able to start it once, and am able to start it intermittently. I have been unable to revive it of late. It gives 2 beeps, then shuts off. Starts back up, gives 2 beeps, shuts off. I have replaced memory, still gives me same problems.

did you try to enter bios by pressing f 2 .

Problem was resumed later, forgot to close this thread. I just put the laptop outside, Cooled it to frozen, then turned it on. Once i got it started, wiped it, now it starts up first time every time.

You may need to clean the dust out of the CPU fan/heatsink. I have a laptop that kept running slow and running the fan like crazy. It would slow to a crawl and sometimes shut off. I finally opened it up and discovered fuzz and dust had clogged the fan/heatsink. I blew the dust out and it runs like new.

then it is overheathing get a laptop cooler and dust it off that will help .
