laptop still using internal gpu after install of egpu

i own a hp specter x360 15 inch it has a built in nvidia 940mx, i purchased an aorus gaming box with a gtx 1070. i believe i have installed the driver correctly because the fans activated when i installed it, however when i play games, i can see on the my gpu reader that it is still only using the 940mx. how do i set it to use the 1070 as default?

do u connect the gpu to an external monitor?i dont know much on how others egpu solution works but my alienware 15 works perfectly with the alienware g amp.

You need to disable the integrated card in your notebook so that the intel CPU drive can accept EGPU as a GPU in the system.
For this you need a program called Diy Setup 1.3, created and distributed by a modder called nando4, which you find on youtube and in the EGPU community.
