Question Laptop stopped working out of the blue... and won't turn on again.

How it happened:
The laptop was up and running, I left my desk for 10 minutes and when I came back the computer was off and would not turn back on... (no prior issues)

What I've done:

• Use a different power adapter
• Disconnect the battery and tried to turn it on (no response)
• Unplugged harddrive
• Take out RAM memory
• Disconnect screen from the motherboard
• Disconnect various USB and sound cables

What I noticed:

• Battery led still turn on charged while plugged
• For some time I thought the "ON" button might not be working (I could not reach it to verify)
• While plugged to the power, the GPU and/or CPU heatsink get extremely hot, not as quickly as if it was turned on (I guess), is this the sign of some short happening?

Any ideas or hint at what I should do/ look at next?
